Were you a driver involved in a crash?
- If the crash occurred on or after August 28, 2021, drivers only need to submit a Driver's Motor Vehicle Crash Report if the accident was NOT investigated by an officer.
New accident reports are transferred to this system following processing by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
It may take up to 5 working days for a new accident report to be available for viewing.
A reminder that the Lincoln Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will never call to ask for direct payment of fines, court costs, warrants, or other legal matters. If an individual claiming to be with law enforcement calls to request payment via a Green Dot MoneyPak or other form of prepaid gift card you should not follow their instructions.
Unfortunately, LPD has had a large number of individuals listed on motor vehicle accident reports who have been targeted as part of a scam requesting payment for various legal matters via MoneyPaks or other prepaid cards. The individual(s) responsible for this scam will most often identify himself as an officer or detective with LPD. The suspect(s) also has the ability to have your caller ID show a number associated with LPD when he calls.
If you receive a call from an individual claiming to be with law enforcement who is requesting payment in any fashion you should hang up immediately. Additionally, you can call the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000 to make a report about the suspicious phone call and/or verify the validity of any call made from law enforcement personnel. The Lincoln Police Department does not want to see your involvement in an accident lead to further strain.
